IC-RICS increases the availability for all guest systems supported by VMware ESX & Citrix XenServer. In case of an unlimited number of ESX / XenServer failures IC-RICS automatically restarts the virtual machineson the ESX / XenServers which are still running. Applications are available again after a short period of time.
The distribution takes place either via round robin or according to the free memory capacity on the ESX / XenServers. It is also possible to define and precisely predetermine priorities in the starting sequence of the VM. The applications and appliances are thus available again fully automatically within a short period of time.

High availability for small and enterprise environments

IC-RICS is characterized by its special advantages, which makes it stand out from the competition of other HA products.

• Management of more than 4 simultaneous ESX / XenServer failures
• Highly granular control of which virtual machines are started on after a failure (e.g. web server, intranet)
• Assign priorities for restarting VMs
• Shut down of single VMs in order to free up resources

The combination with the IC-SchED module makes it possible to migrate the VMs back after a failure, thereby achieving the same distribution as prior to the failure. This means that the failback possibility afforded in combination with IC-SchED offers added value.
